February 11, 1983:  Articles of Incorporation filed with the NC Secretary of State. Original Board of Directors included Rhonda Smith, Martha McDowell-Fleming, Pat Porter, Nancy Hoskins, Shelly Stowers, Nancy Johnson, Gracie Williams, Barb Wurth, and Wendy Banning.

September 14, 1983:  NCACA granted 501(c)(6) tax-exempt non-profit "business league" status by the IRS

Fall 1983:  Martha McDowell-Fleming is elected first President of the NCACA and the Association holds its first conference in Raleigh.  Key Note Speaker: David Yoder, Conference Chair: Gracie Williams

Fall 1983: First NCACA newsletter published and disseminated to members

1988: The NCACA Activity Book developed by Gracie Williams

1992: First Honors of the Association presented to Dr. Patricia Porter

2005: NCACA website launched with electronic newsletter

2013: NCACA celebrates 30 years and redesigns the website
